Areas of Support

Hypnotherapy and psychotherapy can support a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and psychological difficulties, including but not limited to the following:

Recovery from Domestic Abuse:

Domestic abuse creates significant trauma and can leave survivors in a constant state of emotional alertness and fear. Even after leaving an abusive relationship, the emotional impact often continues, particularly where children or shared financial responsibilities remain.
Therapeutic support can help reduce anxiety, hypervigilance, obsessive thinking, low self-esteem, depression, and difficulties with trust and decision-making, while helping survivors regain a sense of safety, confidence, and control.

Trauma:

Trauma can result from a single distressing event, repeated exposure to traumatic experiences, difficult childhood environments, or community trauma. Trauma responses can include fear, shame, emotional numbness, flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, feelings of powerlessness, and difficulties feeling safe or supported.

Therapy can help clients process trauma safely, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies.

Anxiety and Stress:

Anxiety is the brain’s natural response to perceived danger and is designed to protect us. However, prolonged anxiety and stress can become mentally and physically exhausting.

Symptoms may include:

• Panic attacks

• Restlessness

• Excessive worrying

• Poor concentration

• Increased heart rate

• Sweating or shaking

• Sleep difficulties

• Muscle tension

• Feeling overwhelmed or constantly “on edge”

Stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline can significantly impact both physical and emotional health. Therapy helps calm the nervous system, reduce negative thinking patterns, and support healthier emotional regulation.

Confidence and Self-Esteem:

Low confidence and self-worth can affect relationships, boundaries, decision-making, and personal fulfilment. Therapy can support clients in building resilience, improving self-esteem, developing healthier boundaries, and reconnecting with their strengths and abilities.

Dementia Support:

While hypnotherapy is not a cure for dementia, it can support emotional wellbeing by helping reduce fear, agitation, stress, and anxiety for both individuals living with dementia and their carers.

Depression:

Depression can affect mood, energy, motivation, sleep, self-esteem, and the ability to enjoy everyday life. Feelings of sadness, hopelessness, loneliness, exhaustion, or emotional emptiness are common experiences.

Grief and Loss:

Grief is a deeply personal experience and can affect individuals emotionally, mentally, and physically. Feelings of shock, sadness, loneliness, anger, guilt, or numbness are all natural responses to loss.
Therapeutic support can help individuals process grief safely and move forward while continuing to honour the significance of their loss.

Menopause Support:

Menopause can significantly affect emotional and physical wellbeing. Symptoms may include anxiety, low mood, irritability, exhaustion, poor sleep, brain fog, and reduced confidence. Therapeutic support can help women navigate these changes with greater understanding and emotional support.

Neurodivergence:

Neurodivergence is a natural variation in how the brain works and includes conditions such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. Living in a predominantly neurotypical world can create additional emotional stress, anxiety, burnout, and self-esteem difficulties. Therapy offers a supportive and understanding space tailored to individual needs.

Therapeutic support can help individuals rebuild confidence, reconnect with their strengths, and develop healthier emotional patterns.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD):

OCD involves persistent intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviours designed to reduce anxiety. Symptoms can include checking, contamination fears, intrusive thoughts, reassurance seeking, hoarding, counting, or compulsive routines. Therapy can help reduce anxiety cycles and develop healthier coping strategies.

Phobias:
Phobias are intense fear responses to perceived dangers and can significantly affect daily life. Hypnotherapy can support individuals experiencing both simple phobias, such as fear of spiders or dentists, and more complex phobias including social anxiety and agoraphobia.

Sleep Difficulties:

Quality sleep is essential for emotional wellbeing and healthy brain functioning. Poor sleep can contribute to anxiety, stress, irritability, exhaustion, and emotional overwhelm. Therapy can help calm the mind, improve relaxation, and support healthier sleep patterns.

Support for Children and Teenagers:
Children and young people can experience emotional difficulties including anxiety, low confidence, anger, social withdrawal, bullying, sleep problems, and emotional dysregulation.

Children are often highly responsive to hypnotherapy due to their strong imagination and creativity. Sessions are adapted to suit each child’s individual needs, with parents or caregivers fully involved in the therapeutic process.
Hypnotherapy sessions are available for children aged 8 and above.

Weight Management and Emotional Eating:
Emotional eating and unhealthy eating patterns are often linked to stress, anxiety, self-esteem difficulties, poor sleep, and emotional overwhelm. Therapy can help clients understand emotional triggers, develop healthier coping strategies, and create a more balanced relationship with food and wellbeing.

Spiritual Support

Past Life Regression (PLR):
Past Life Regression uses hypnosis to explore memories and experiences believed to be held within the subconscious mind. Some people seek PLR for healing, insight, self-discovery, or spiritual exploration, while others participate out of curiosity and interest.

Sessions are available on a one-to-one basis or as part of a group experience. Optional tarot readings are also available to support reflection and insight following sessions.

Tarot Card Readings:
Tarot cards have been used for centuries as a tool for reflection, guidance, and spiritual insight. Rather than predicting fixed outcomes, tarot readings are often used to encourage clarity, self-awareness, and deeper understanding of relationships, emotions, life challenges, and future possibilities.

Talks and Workshops

Talks:
A talk titled Neuroscience & Hypnotherapy is available for schools, community groups, WI groups, and organisations interested in emotional wellbeing and mental health awareness.

Workplace Wellbeing Workshops:

Half-day workshops are available to support mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Workshops can be tailored to the needs and size of each organisation or group.
